Case Study: Town of Rome

Rome, Wisconsin

Destination recreation. Nestled in the center of Wisconsin, the Town of Rome is a quaint community located just about 100 miles north of the state capitol. The town boasts an abundance of natural resources and prides itself on providing its residents a diverse community with year-round recreation opportunities. But with growing demand and a large influx of seasonal tourists, city officials were looking to expand their recreational offerings with a unique amenity.

In conjunction with a select engineering firm, Commercial Recreation Specialists (CRS) drafted a multi-phase comprehensive outdoor recreation plan for the development of Alpine Village Business Park that would feature a Splashpad and an adjoining playground, open lawn space, picnic area, benches with shade structures and other site amenities. Phase II of the project would incorporate a sports plaza, walking trails and a covered performance stage for live entertainment.

The Splashpad adds an interactive family element to the park that provides a totally new, multi-generational aquatic experience for its guests. The complementing playground, site amenities and future phase components add an abundance of recreational offerings and activities, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. Local residents and tourists of all ages and abilities now have a state-of-the-art community space where they can come together and recreate for generations to come.
