Case Study: Palatine Park District

There’s a big difference between lightning prediction and lightning detection. The Village of Palatine found that too many false alarms lead patrons to simply ignore warnings — putting everyone at risk. The Palatine Park District decided to replace their lightning prediction systems with Strike Guard Early-Warning Lightning Detection Systems from Commercial Recreation Specialists (CRS) to protect patrons at their parks, pools, golf courses and stables.

With the addition of only two sensors, the Strike Guard Lightning Warning System covers the entire Palatine district with a reliable early-warning system that allows them to track lightning and automatically sound the alarm when lightning strikes within a 10 mile radius. Their new lightning detection system now gives the community improved safety and ensures that the days of false alarms are in the past.
