Case Study: Capital Springs Recreation Area Dog Park

Even dogs need a break from the dog days of summer! Capital Springs Recreation Area provides nearly 2,500 acres of natural area for Dane County residents with a 30-acre off-lease dog exercise area featuring nearly a mile of hard-surface walking trails that run through restored prairie.

Dane County officials were looking to incorporate a safe, accessible, and durable shade structure that would provide adequate shade in the existing gravel seating area. Commercial Recreation Specialists worked with county officials to custom design and install a Superior Kite Sail shade structure featuring natural colors to blend in with the surrounding landscape.

Now visitors and their pets can enjoy a shaded seating area for breaks between play and exercise.
