We’re concerned about the present and future of our natural resources. Routinely working with one of the most precious resources on the planet – water – makes us even more aware of the importance of providing sustainable solutions. Along with our Splashpad partner, Vortex, we have adopted multiple practices and programs that enable us to significantly reduce environmental impact. Using a Smartflow Philosophy, Vortex has designed water distribution systems, nozzles, spray sequences, flow controllers, and intervals of operation with reducing water consumption in mind.
Sustainable Design
The following Sustainable Design Principals are an integral component of each project:
- Reduce Water Consumption
- Use effective water management solutions
- Incorporate innovative Repurpose water management systems
- Use high efficiency nozzles and spray heads
- Incorporate on-demand activation
- Incorporate Energy Reduction Equipment
- Use appropriate water management systems
- Integrate variable frequency drive pumps
- Program sequences of play
- Use Appropriate Materials
- Use long lasting and durable materials
- Incorporate recycled materials into features
- Make features 100% recyclable at end of their life cycle
Our sustainable designs are focused around our water management systems, which are a vital component to the success of an aquatic play project. We offer a range of sustainable water management solutions with the best operating efficiency and the highest standards of water quality in the industry that meet and exceed all regional and environmental standards and regulations. Below are details about the types of water management systems that CRS and Vortex can provide.
Water Management Systems (click images below)
Recirculation: These systems are closed circuit systems that recycle and disinfect the water to and from the play area through the advanced Water Quality Management System (WQMS).
Repurpose: These systems are sustainable solutions that are designed to integrate with the overall project scope and needs by reusing the Splashpad or Spraypoint effluent water for surface or sub-surface irrigation. They’re simple to operate and require minimal maintenance.
Flow-Through: These systems are easy to operate, low maintenance and an eco-friendly way to manage water. These systems use potable water that goes through the play area. Effluent water is then returned to the municipal waste water system or percolated back to the water table.
Maestro: Intelligent water control. Maestro enables full control of multiple water play and display solutions from a remote location to create unique experiences.
