Case Study: Bear Paw Beach & Adventure Island

No water? No problem! With a growing demand for expanded aquatic recreation and changing camping trends, Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park was looking for ways to totally transform its guest experience while also creating new streams of revenue.

After acquiring 150 acres of additional land, park owners Randy and Bridget began their multi-phase project to incorporate new amenities, including additional campsites, glamping cabins and an inflatable aqua park. There was just one problem—they had no body of water.

Enter Commercial Recreation Specialists (CRS).

CRS created a large, man-made body of water to accommodate an exhilarating Wibit Sports Park XL, complete with a breathtaking beach, cabana rentals, concessions and more. In addition to providing their campers with an engaging and family-friendly aquatic feature, Bear Paw Beach & Adventure Island is open to the public, boosting overall guest attendance. Timed aqua park sessions, beach admission, cabana rentals, concessions and more generate multiple new streams of revenue for the park.

Park Manager Dakota Young states, “We’ve had almost 4,000 guests come through in our first season—people are loving it! The park has become a destination spot for the area and creates a one-of-a-kind experience that no one else has. There’s a huge family draw. Kids eyes light up the second they see the inflatables! Everyone has been having such an amazing and positive experience and we couldn’t be happier. We have big plans for next year, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
