The Inspire the Human Spirit Award honors visionary leaders in outdoor recreation whose contributions have made a profound difference. Each year, recipients are nominated and selected for their ability to inspire others, foster community connection, and uphold the core values that define CRS:
We are proud to recognize this year’s outstanding recipients. Award recipients receive a $5,000 grant to support their ongoing efforts, along with a symbolic gift—a custom set of wind chimes—to honor their ability to inspire those they serve.
We are proud to honor the late Randy Isaacson for his profound impact on the campground industry and the legacy he built over nearly 40 years. He pioneered campground financing, helping others achieve their dreams while creating beloved destinations like Jellystone Park™ and Bear Paw Beach in Caledonia, Wisconsin. His visionary spirit was always channeled into the goal of bringing people together and fostering meaningful memories. The Isaacson Family’s support of the recreations community is stronger than ever, as they have generously gifted their award to support two industry continuing education programs to allow others to follow in Randy’s footsteps and continue learning, growing, and shaping the future.
Camp Connri provides children from underserved communities with opportunities to explore nature, develop skills, and create lasting memories. Their commitment to recreation as a force for personal growth and belonging is truly inspiring.
JCC Rockland fosters recreation, wellness, and cultural enrichment, creating vibrant spaces for connection and activity. Their dedication to building an engaging, healthy community embodies the spirit of this award.
Extreme Faith Camp provides a dedicated Catholic camp and retreat center for youth in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. By creating their own space, they make it possible for more young people to encounter Christ, build community, and experience faith-filled fun in a supportive environment.
The Legacy Foundation of Central Wisconsin is a private foundation dedicated to improving the health and well-being of central Wisconsin’s communities through grants and partnerships with local organizations. Their support helps to create healthier, stronger communities across the region.
