Below is a guide to cleaning PVC inflatable water products to remove germs and impurities from surfaces.
All cleaning recommendations below are in adherence with CDC and manufacturer guidelines.
PVC Inflatables
1. Clean the surfaces using soap or PVC-safe cleaner. CRS recommends using a cleaner and UV protectant for this step.
Rave Speed Clean is a heavy-duty cleaner that can be used to clean inflatables products out of the water while CRS Pro Water Warrior is marine safe and can be used on products still in the water. To protect your products from UV rays during the summer sun, Indikon Poly Guard UV can be used all over your inflatables without making them slippery.
2. Mix a diluted-bleach solution using plain bleach and water.
Ratio: 5 tablespoons bleach per 1 gallon of water.
3. Spray the solution on all contact surfaces using a pressurized spray canister; these can be found at local hardware stores.
4. Allow the bleach solution to sit for a minimum of 1 minute but not more than 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
The bleach could affect product color; do not leave the solution on the PVC for more than 5 minutes and be sure to rinse thoroughly.
Disinfect prior to set up and as often as practical. In a high-use environment, this could be up to two times per day. As an additional precaution, park users should wash hands before and after use of the park and avoid touching their face.
