Case Study: North Fond du Lac Pool

North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin

Little village, BIG splash! For more than six years the Village of North Fond Du Lac worked to expand and enhance the amenities offered at their village pool. They wanted to provide a community space where everyone could comfortably experience the joys of water. After years of fundraising in the community through rummage sales, brat frys, and aluminum drives — along with acquiring adjacent land from the local high school for the bargain price of $1 — the village was ready to create a total aquatic play experience.

Throughout their process village officials looked to CRS to help create the space their community had been working so hard to fund. We designed a fluid space that would accent their existing wading pool and create a total aquatic play environment for children of all ages and abilities. Through the incorporation of a Splashpad that featured a Cascades water table and a variety of features with water flows, mists, jets and sprinkling effects, we elevated the water play to beyond the pool for a fresh experience.

The project also included much-needed shade structures. The addition of a cantilever shade structure and hip shelter paired with the Splashpad broadened the appeal of the pool to the entire family — from grandparents to toddlers. The new amenities brought a big change to this small community, improving the quality of play for all ages.
